Anwar’s opposition alliance has capitalised on public discontent with rising prices and a series of political scandals involving the government to gain ground on the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition.

But some analysts have said the sodomy allegation plaguing Anwar could scuttle the opposition’s plans to take power.

The opposition alliance recorded its best ever result in a March poll, when it wrested control of five states and denied the ruling coalition its two-thirds parliamentary majority.

The father of Anwar’s accuser urged him yesterday to co-operate with police investigating the case.

“My son Saiful Bukhari has said that he is ready and willing at any time to swear in accordance with Islamic teachings at a mosque and to be witnessed by ulamas (religious scholars) and to uphold the truth that he was sodomised according to what was reported to the police,” Azlan Mohd Lazim said in a statement read by Saiful’s lawyer.

Anwar got sued

Malaysia’s police chief is suing opposition figure Anwar Ibrahim for defamation over allegations the chief concocted evidence against Anwar in an assault case, the policeman’s lawyer said yesterday.

Anwar had said police chief Musa Hassan fabricated evidence against him when he caused a doctor to produce a report stating that Anwar’s injuries, sustained while in police custody in 1998, could have been self-inflicted or accidental when the policeman knew he had been beaten up,

Musa’s lawyer said.

“These words that he uttered are untrue and false and defamatory of Musa,”

MCA healthy election

MCA vice-president Datuk Ong Tee Keat will go for the president’s post during the party polls in October.

“In view of incumbent Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting not seeking re-election, I offer myself amid such an unprecedented testing time for the party,” he said during the installation of Serdang Federation of Chinese Guilds and Associations’ new office bearers in Seri Kembangan near here yesterday.

On June 28, Ka Ting had announced that he would not defend his president’s post.

In the 2005 party polls, Tee Keat won the third highest number of votes among the four vice-presidents, after Datuk Seri Dr Fong Chan Onn and Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek.

Dr Chua resigned earlier this year after he admitted to being the man in a sex video clip.

The fourth vice-president is Datuk Donald Lim.

Tee Keat, who is Transport Minister, is the only MCA vice-president represented in Cabinet.

What economics experts had to say about Anwar’s method?

The government will incur higher expenses if it applies Parti Keadilan Rakyat advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s method to reduce fuel prices.

Economics experts said the higher expenses will further burden the people and could lead to some development projects being postponed.

In last night’s fuel debate, Anwar said the fuel price could be reduced by 50 sen per litre if the Pakatan Rakyat formed the government through a formula of using RM5 billion to accomodate the price reduction.

He said the money can be got from saving on government expenditure including overcoming leakages and reducing the ’standby capacity’ of power production of independent power producers (IPPs).

Dr Yeah Kim Leng, Rating Agency Malaysia Holdings Berhad’s group chief economist, said the government woud have to pay compensation to IPPs as they would be breaking contracts by lowering standby capacity.

“The government will have to bear the costs if contracts are broken,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

He said the price reductiion can be done but the government would have to cut back on other sectors to get the additional subsidy.

“It is not economically efficient…If the government wants to spend RM5 billion, they have to cut back on other areas,” he said.

Universiti Utara Malaysia’s Faculty of Economics lecturer Prof Madya Dr Mohd Zaini Abd Bakar said there was a possibility that foreign investors will be driven away if the country’s standby capacity was low.

“I do not know the terms of contracts between Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) and the IPPs but if there are terms that say the contract needed to be re-newed, TNB can make a choice of not needing the IPPs as TNB has additional capacity,” he said.

He also did not deny that the government could reduce fuel price through efficient management of the country’s expenses.

“The government has to save on national expenses to cover back the fuel price reduction,” he said.

Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Abdul Samad earlier this week told the Dewan Rakyat the fuel subsidy including cash rebate paid to vehicle owners for the first six months amounted to RM10.25 billion, higher than the RM8.77 billion subsidy for the whole of last year. He said of the amount, RM4.006 billion was for petrol, RM5.056 billion for diesel and RM1.1188 billion for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG).

Anwar Ibrahim is a good man

If Anwar Ibrahim is an actor, he would definitely already achieve so many achievements and awards for his no doubt performance. But no, he choosed to be in politics because in this arena he can go so far, so “deep” and so disgustingly anywhere he wishes to go.

Shabery asked him one simple question:

What happen later when Malaysia run out of fuel? Only then you (Anwar) rapidly increase the prices?

Anwar Ibrahim didn’t answer the question. He was so far away mumbling his way out, showing his sympathy faces, repeatedly stating that he is being attack with personal issues, IPP 40% to 20% crap, cut cost from sources that he himself doesn’t really know where to cut and it was a lot of things.

Here’s a situation.

Imagine Anwar is in power. Today form new government, tomorrow fuel price decrease. Okay? In the ideal world, people will maintain to move forward and precisely development will never stops. Global crisis will still happen. World oil prices will increase, no matter how you try to stop. Okay?

Anwar claimed that Malaysia is an oil producer country, should be rich and be able to give subsidy to the people. RM2.20, Anwar and all the Malaysians enjoy that fuel price. We all live happy (not include disaster or any financial trouble along the years). Suddenly, in year 2015, we are out of fuel. World oil market had already increased 100% or more from today’s (2008 ) prices.

What will happen then?

Malaysia is not a oil producer country anymore. Oil is no where to be found in our shores. We do not have our own resources to generate electricity using biofuel anymore. The IPP of 40% to 20% that Anwar mentioned is already 0% and we can’t no longer debate about that. Then only Anwar will say, “Okay people, we are out of fuel. Now we have to start to learn to adapt with high consumer prices and eat rice once a week..” and so. As the Prime Minister, Anwar will have connections to his private jets and more embassies or countries he can run to. Poverty. Hunger. USA wil come. Israel will help. It’s a fight for independence day all over again. Savvy?

So some of us trust Anwar, some of us don’t. Some people trust that the government right now are doing their job although it can be hard at times.

Why is it important for us to learn history? to know the past?

Why did Shabery squeezed some of what Anwar did back then during their debate that day?

Why so many Malaysians nowadays easily forget their roots and their origin?

Why so many people are hard to change?

Why we should all remind ourselves about the things that already happened?

It took us hundreds of years to claim our freedom. From Tanah Melayu to Malaya, from Malaya to Malaysia.

It only takes Anwar Ibrahim few months to be in power (dateline: 16th september 2008).

It only takes Anwar Ibrahim a day to change all the good hard work that we, our ancestors had done.

Even Rome wasn’t built in a day. Even Castro had to get through many years to retain his positions. Even Dr. Mahathir was a prime minister for more than 20 years and there are still many things to do.

Things don’t come easily. Things don’t come cheap.

Some people like Anwar Ibrahim say so many things he wants to achieve.. and yet, all that he had done was so many many bad things that are all mischieves.

I can say Anwar Ibrahim is a good man. A good actor actor at least.

The debate: Anwar is the better speaker, but..

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim failed to offer a convincing and sustainable formula in reducing the price of fuel during the special debate `Form the Government Today, Fuel Price Down Tomorrow’.

Although he spoke eloquently and attracted the attention of the audience, particularly his supporters, with his rhetoric, the formula he presented was successfully rebutted by his opponent, Datuk Ahmad Shabery Cheek, who is the Information Minister.

The minister provided more facts in defending the government’s move to restructure the fuel subsidy compared to Anwar who chose to adopt the populist approach in wooing the audience.

According to Anwar, the fuel price could be reduced by 50 sen per litre on the next day if Pakatan Rakyat were to form the government, through the formula of RM5 billion to be utilised to cater for the fuel price reduction.

He said the money could be obtained through savings in government expenditure including overcoming the problems of leakage, and reducing the standby capacity in energy production from 40 per cent to 20 per cent by the independent power producers (IPP).

Anwar Ibrahim: Who’s saying I’m comparing our fuel prices with other countries?

For few days, I don’t really care about Malaysian politics. Honestly, life without ever to think about politics is more peaceful and very light. People around me are the same even though in reality we have our differences. I take everything that happened through out the moments as calm as possible.

But it all changed. Tonight I woke up from that ‘dream land’ I had.

Anwar Ibrahim. The man that everybody loves to hate, loves to love. He is the man of the highlight tonight. I hate that he triggered madness and havoc on the streets, I love when he said he can and will lowered the fuel prices, I hate when he talked things that caused multi- racial dispute, I love it when he said fuel can be decreased, I hate that he distrupt the harmony, I love that he can say that it is possible for the people to pay less for the petrol than the current price, I hate when he can say so much when he himself is not worthy of his own words.

Of all people, Anwar is the one who disturbed me from my ’sleep’. Tonight, I’m awake.

I wonder why?

He was sleeping so much since the day he was accused to had sodomized a young college drop- out, since the day his private detective gone missing, since the day he failed to give his statement to the authorities and since the day people started to see that he was the one who’s creating all the conspiracies.

Tonight he woke up and disturbed everybody once again. He wanted to be the Prime Minister of Malaysia and now is his chance to show Malaysian what he can do best: Ma nipulating people’s mind by his manipulating words.

My sense of concious telling me that Anwar is desperate although he appeared calm and relax through out his creative session tonight. Anwar Ibrahim is a man with a lot of faces. He has his good face for DAP, he has his religious face for PAS, he has his friendly face for BN, he has his ellegant face for Al- Jazeera, he has his puppy face for USA, he has his horny face for Saiful, he has his other horny face for Azizah and many other faces for his many other occasions.

I don’t hate Anwar. I just love to hate him, love to love him.

The question I love to ask myself. The questions which put history into the motion of now.

“What had Anwar Ibrahim done for the benefit of Malaysia as whole? What are the good things he had done that are visible for us to see? What he did all this years that really everybody can share? What was his contribution during his reign in power?”

He was the deputy of Prime Minister back then. I didn’t realized his existance up until the day he suddenly had to yell to everyone and get all excited that he is going for prison for crime that he actually commited. He was found guilty for corruption. Can you believe this guy? Can you believe that a corrupted politician wants to become our next prime minister? Can you believe in this rebelious fella?

Do you believe in guy who talks crap and up until now not a single crap his visible?

Can we, Malaysians trust Anwar Ibrahim?

Come out from our ‘dream land’ my fellow Malaysians. It’s time to wake up. An ‘alarm clock’ had triggered us all. I will not sleep until I switch it off. I will not sleep until the batteries are died out. I will not sleep until this ‘alarm clock’ is thrown away and changed with a new one. I will not sleep. I will stand up and savvy oppose this mad ‘alarm clock’. I’m awake.

Weekend chit-chat

Police of Malaysia will take Anwar Ibrahim’s statement tomorrow upon his sodomy case.

Anwar Ibrahim is very quite nowadays.

Pas is not sure and will look into the matter of their position in Pakatan Rakyat.

Pak Lah hold legal gathering yesterday, he said some words that amazed the people. The question is whether he will do all that he said or not?

If PAS to let go from Pakatan Rakyat and decide that Malay rights and Islam rights are more important than their alliances, instead of Anwar Ibrahim taking over with his new government, BN can take over Perak. BN to form new Perak government is just 3 seats away.

ps- my advice to Anwar Ibrahim: better leave the country while you still can. You’re maybe not gay, but you’re not ’straight’ either. Pak Lah is looking good right about now.
